I don't recognize half the seafood available out there lately. (Pongo, anyone?) And maybe that's just as well, since Taras Grescoe's muckraking profile of the fishing industry Bottomfeeder: How to Eat Ethically in a World of Vanishing Seafood, really makes me think twice about eating any more fish. The book's press, including this article in Calgary's Herald newspaper and this write-up at salon.com, is good, if a little scary. Grescoe details the worker abuses and environmental costs of just about every kind of scaly main course.
Point me towards the Boca Burgers.--David E
