Alaska's Seth Kanter made a splash several years ago with his debut novel
Ordinary Wolves, a fictional account of a boy growing up in the wilds of the 49th state. Now he's back with
Shopping for Porcupine: A Life in Arctic Alaska. This time, Kantner's book is non-fiction, essays and photographs about his own life in the bush and the changes he's seen in his home state. "I talk about a life of hunting and moving toward the new Alaska, which is more jobs and money," Kantner told the
Juneau Empire.
