She's No Fool
Research is always better on the beach. Sarah Vowell told Canada's National Post newspaper about her latest book The Wordy Shipmates and about her next project, a history of Hawaii after the arrival of Europeans. Given the weather lately, I'm surprised our neighbors to the north didn't stone her when they heard that last bit of news.--David E
I just started reading this book, and I had suggested it to one of the lowpockets as something she might be interested in. Now that I've started, I've come to realize that Vowell uses so many references from things the lowpocket has no association with, it's going to be awhile, if ever, that she will understand the Brady Bunch or Happy Days references.

Are you enjoying WS? I liked the excerpt I read, but haven't tried the whole book yet.--DHE
