Today on NPR, Daniel Pinkwater raved--
absolutely raved--about the
New York Review of Books' children's reprint series. As with their books for grown-ups, the
NYRB finds underappreciated classics (such as store fave
The Dud Avocado) and brings them back to today's readers. The kids books are beautiful--gorgeous covers and charming illustrations. We have a display of them in the back of the store.
Now the bad news: The book that Pinkwater read from today--James Thurber's
Thirteen Clocks--is sold out. But there are plenty of other great titles waiting for you. Check them out today.--David E
